STRIKING THE BALANCE: Ethics and Experts

Wednesday, September 30, 2026 (6:00 PM - 8:00 PM) (PDT)

Description

A recent $3 million sanction order by a local Federal District Court Judge makes clear that attorneys bear the responsibility for the ethical lapses of expert witnesses when the duty of zealous advocacy is placed ahead of the duty of candor to the court.  An experienced panel of a jurist, litigators and an accounting expert will provide important and timely information about how these competing ethical obligations can be balanced, and address the attorneys’ ethical responsibility for an expert witness’ reliance on AI-generated material in their reports or testimony.
