A cancer diagnosis and the journey through survivorship can present significant challenges for anyone, and lawyers are no exception. The demanding nature of the legal profession, coupled with the emotional and physical toll of cancer, requires lawyers to equip themselves with practical strategies for addressing the personal, professional, and ethical implications of their journeys. Silicon Valley attorney Roger Royse will discuss his challenges in navigating the US healthcare system after receiving a cancer diagnosis, as well as how he managed the impact of cancer and treatment on his practice, and resources for others going through the same thing. Women Lawyers’ Section member Lara Hoffman will speak about her experience as a cancer survivor and why Roger Royse’s story matters to her.
